For more active folk, the beaches are also a great place to visit and host to a range of offerings. Snorkelling and diving are two of the most popular and Portimão’s Atlantic position allow for some exciting adventures. Golfing
The Algarve is famed for its golfing and Portimão itself offers some of the best courses in the region – five of them overlook the ocean – offering glorious views of the great sea. The amazing power of the Atlantic Ocean has taken its toll on Portimão and has managed to carve out some of the most dramatic and astoundingly beautiful landscapes many will ever see, Visit Sagres, or take a trip and hike to across the Monchique Mountains.
