Our Highlights from a Marysville Vacation

Our Highlights from a Marysville Vacation

Heading out on a Marysville vacation in Australia, we knew that we had some serious highlights from the natural world coming our way. What we didn’t realise was exactly how beautiful all of those highlights would be. This is our list of the top sights we saw – and we would recommend these to anyone else visiting the area! Steavensons Falls This is voted as the #1 thing to do in Marysville, and that’s no surprise at all. Located in its own scenic reserve, Steavensons Falls is a beautiful waterfall, which looks particularly spectacular after a lot of rain. We headed down just after the snowy season had finished, and it was swelled with melt water, which was fantastic. It’s a gentle walk from the car park, and everything is well maintained. Even though you can still see marks from the 2009 bushfire, the falls themselves were spectacular and hugely made up for it. Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden If you want a place to stroll around and discover...

Scottish Wilderness – Trip of a Lifetime

Scottish Wilderness – Trip of a Lifetime

A few days back, my husband and I set of for an exhilarating vacation in the tranquil Scottish terrains. It was the fag end of February when we headed for Scotland—after having sorted out our train tickets and organizing our accommodation beforehand. An early departure from Lancaster soon got us to the fresh environs of Blair Athol. With enough food to last 3 days/nights and our bikes in hand, we were all set to embark on the trip of our lifetime—the easy and affordable way. Just a little after noon, we were cycling our way up Glen Tilt. The stiff tail wind  was certainly not adding to our wilderness woes and as we had failed to find any open cafeterias in Blair Atholl, we had to make do with cream donuts packed from the local store and a few sandwiches—but then the ambience was lush and amazing  and made us look ahead.(image by Hugh / Uisdean Spicer) We had willfully taken a route on the wrong side of our...
