I have tried both... I made a watermark in photoshop (white/black text then reduce the "fill" or "opacity" i believe it is?) for all my work but then I realized (besides that it ruins the image for viewers), that with images, they are automatically copyrighted for the artist once they are created... by law, as long as you have proof (save originals). so, if someone wants to save the pic for personal use or show some friends, thats all good (hey, free advertising, whats the harm?) BUT if you ever see your image on a site, flyer, card, poster, billboard, commercial or whatever... you can SUE :)

I also have a friendly reminder at the bottom of my page, check out how I have mine set up <a href="http://tnezprints.mosaicglobe.com/">http://tnezprints.mosaicglobe.com/</a>

Organizing Images

Okay, I know this is probably not "advanced functionality," but instead "very basic." I am not technical at all. I am having trouble organizing my images. No matter how I drag the images I end up with "gaps" on lines. How to I prevent this?

Thanks

Re: larger slideshow images

Hi Brandon,

We are working on the ability to have larger images. It takes a while to accomplish due to the fact that we have to re-scale all the images that are hosted on MosaicGlobe. During this transition though, we'll also be moving all image hosting to a new faster hosting service for images. Once the scaling of the images is complete we will be offering the following sizes, plesae note that the numbers are maximum pixels for the largest side:

75x75 square thumb
100x100 thumb
400x400 small
600x600 medium
800x800 large
1024x1024 extra large

for the lightbox slideshow, you'll probably be able to pick from the 400x400,600x600,800x800 as 1024x1024 is too large for the majority of screen resolutions we see on MosaicGlobe.

Re: Disabling right-click save capability on images

Unfortunately the only way to avoid allowing viewers to store a copy of your image on their computer is not to share them at all.
Whether through a right click save or screen capture it is all too easy to get a copy. In fact, just by looking at your webpage a copy is most likely created in their cache folder without them doing anything at all.
The good news is the images uploaded to your site are converted and compressed for smaller image sizes. This means that although they look good on a monitor, if someone wanted to reproduce them commercially on say a 4x6 postcard, the result would be a low resolution, pixelated image. Print quality reproductions would be about 1 - 2 inches.
There is some risk in marketing your work online. It is always a good idea to post ownership notices on your site so there is no questions if an issue arises. Check with <a href="http://www.creativecommons.org">www.creativecommons.org</a>. Creative Commons licenses provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators.
On the top right of their page is a 'License your work' link. from here you can generate code to place on your site (if you're comfortable with HTML) or copy the notice to your computer and then upload it to your MosaicGlobe website where you can place it somewhere conspicuous.

I agree that's pretty geeky and useless. Personally I love google analytics and we plan to incorporate them into a future revision along with a more useful visitor tracking.
