Photography
(Includes all categories of photography including traditional, digital and manipulated )
Carmen Cordelia
Visit the site
Inspired by nature but not inhibited by it's actuality, Carmen's work moves the natural world into a picturesque fantasy of subdued color and otherworldly beauty. Each photoshopped image is a study of the ethereal; each delicate and softly lit landscapes too fragile and serene to exist in our own world. .
Honorable Mentions:
Savana Jones
Mor Elnekave
Mary Ann Reilly |
Traditional Mediums
(Painting, drawing, collage, print-making, mixed media, sculpture, etc.)
Richard Heisler
Visit the site
Richard's meticulously painted images are superb examples of photorealism in that a photo is the foundation for the work. However, a portion of the artwork in this portfolio manages to sidestep the emotional detachment common in the genre. This may be in part due to the artists respect for the subject matter and the act of creating visual recollections of a personal experience or interest. For example, the 100 views of Tokyo series is a matter-of-fact, unidealized portrayal of a city - yet it is also feels rather sentimental - in the way vacation photos are.
Honorable Mentions:
Judithe Hernandez
Veronica Popoiacu

Visual Art and Design
(Illustrative & Commercial marketing material and Digital Art including 3D rendering and comics)
John Soukup
Visit the site
With a degree in Visual Design, John, aka Kettle, has crafted a highly personal style of illustration to express an offbeat personality. His work is as bright and cheery as a children's book populated by woodland creatures, pirates, octupodes, robots and boobies. So kinda like a children's book for slackers. A majority of the work is on canvas, but some collage work includes vinyl, cd, skate boards, printed paper and a triscuit box. Also worth a peek - stars wars sketch cards...
Honorable Mentions:
Iris Chen
Kristina Gehrmann

Decorative and/or Functional Art
(Includes ceramics, wood, paper, glass, fabrics, knitting, furniture, furnishings, interior design, and architecture. )
Szabo Klara Petra
Visit the site
Szabo Klara Petra is a gifted watercolorist, however with this new series the artist has pushed beyond flat paper into something wholly distinctive; ornate hand painted paper jewelry. The work features intricate paper patterns saturated with vibrant color and at the center of each elaborate design is a small hand painted portrait. Each piece is unique, expressive and inherently delicate.
