Create - Using MosaicGlobe > ALERT: Spam-dexers have discovered MosGlo blogs

May 11, 2006 at 03:43 GMT

Hey,

I just wanted to alert anybody who has blog pages with comments enabled: some spam-dexer (guy who packs blog comments with backlinks to his own site to try to increase his page rank and traffic) appears to be hitting various MosaicGlobe blogs. He may be running a spider (automated program that crawls links and spews backlinks wherever it can) to do this for him.

In any case, I'm posting because I got hit sometime in the last few days, and cruised a few other MosGlo sites that I knew had blogs with comments enabled. Exact same guy, same links, etc. Probably the easiest way to deal with it is just delete the comments... however, you may want to hold on to them in case the MosGlo guys want to pursue this yahoo.

Ciao!

I am working on this problem and will be hopefully pushing some new blog anti-spam features next week. We totally understand how this is now becoming more of a burden and want to eliminate as much of this as possible.

Sorry about the inconvenience this is causing.
